netTALK Partners With Norwegian Cruise Line, Bringing Passengers Closer Together With the New Cruise Norwegian Mobile App
The new app will help coordinate activities and meetups with friends, family, and large groups that are staying in multiple staterooms throughout the ship.
Miami, FL — March 14, 2018 netTALK today announced its partnership with Norwegian Cruise Line. As a contributing member of the mobile app development team, netTALK has provided significant software capabilities in support of the creation of cruise line’s new app, Cruise Norwegian, which helps cruise guests make the most of their vacation by better connecting them with what’s happening on board and keeping them synced with friends and family both on board and ashore, using their smart devices.
netTALK, a leader in digital communications, is leveraging its new state-of-the-art telecommunications architecture to give passengers cruising on Norwegian Cruise Line’s Miami based ship, Norwegian Sky, access to netTALK’s global communications network and mobile apps. With a rapidly expanding fleet, Norwegian boasts some of the most innovative ships in the industry, all purpose-built for a free and flexible onboard experience.
The Cruise Norwegian App offers a fluid experience for guests from time of booking to day of disembarkation, the new app features a multitude of functions that help provide a stress-free vacation experience, helping guests make the most of their time on and off the ship as well as stay connected with their friends and family both on board and back home. Once on board, guests can connect to the ship’s wifi network to use the complimentary Cruise Norwegian app to stay up-to-date on what’s happening on board and make reservations for dining, entertainment and shore excursions.
netTALK specifically partnered with Norwegian Cruise Line to provide advanced technology to support the Cruise Norwegian App’s messaging and chat functionality. Guests can stay connected with friends and family on board with the app’s unlimited onboard calls and messages for a one-time fee of $9.95 for the entire cruise. Groups can organize meetups, stay in contact and share their favorite photos with everyone in their party with group messaging through the app. netTALK’s robust technology allows guests to enjoy a cruise vacation with the ability enjoy communication and connectivity amongst friends and family onboard just as they would if they were on a land-based vacation.
“I’m proud of our strong partnership with Norwegian Cruise Line and the shared vision of both our teams to empower passengers with cutting edge communication technology on Norwegian’s mobile app,” said Anastasios “Takis” Kyriakides, CEO of netTALK.
Those wishing to check-in with loved ones back home can also make calls through the Cruise Norwegian app for a nominal fee of $0.79 per minute (versus most cellular roaming cruise plans from the wireless carriers charging several dollars per minute) for outbound calls to nearly every country in the world. Both landline and mobile phones worldwide may be called using the app, allowing passengers to call ahead to their upcoming ports of call to make dinner reservations, for example.
“It’s been a pleasure to partner with netTALK to bring our guests closer together while enjoying all of the exciting amenities our ships offer,” Rob Casas, senior vice-president of E-commerce for Norwegian Cruise Line. “Using netTALK’s advanced communications technology we are now able to bring the communications comforts of home to sea, with enhanced offerings like group and picture messaging, among other new developments.”
The new app has already been rolled out on Norwegian Sky and will be available on board Norwegian’s newest ship, Norwegian Bliss, when she launches in summer 2018.
